Jarir reported: Since I embraced Islam Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) never refused to see me and he did not see me but with a smile on his face. Ibn Numair has made this addition to this hadith which has been reported on the authority of Ibn Idris that he (Jarir) made this complaint to him (to the Holy Prophet): I cannot sit upon the horse with firmness, whereupon he (Allah's Apostle) (ﷺ) struck his chest with his hand and prayed: O Allah, make him steadfast and rightly-guided.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Abdul Sattar al-Hammad
Hadith Commentary:
The meaning of this hadith is that whenever the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was present at home and I sought permission to enter, he never stopped me. This does not mean that I used to enter the house without permission. Also, whenever the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) saw him, he would smile.

In one narration, it is mentioned that he relates: When I came from Yemen to Madinah Tayyibah and was about to arrive, I changed my clothes, and people began to look at me with astonishment.

I asked them:
Has the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) mentioned me in a good way? The people replied:
Yes, he said:
"Just now, a most excellent man from Yemen is coming to you, whose face has been touched by an angel, meaning he is extremely handsome."

Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
Explanation:
1:
That is, whenever permission to enter was sought, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) granted permission; he did not refuse. After granting permission, there is no harm in letting someone enter after having the women observe proper veiling (purdah). From this, there is no need to unnecessarily infer that only a specifically masculine appearance is intended. Granting permission to enter every time permission is sought is evidence of a special attachment to that person.
