Hadith 2415

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " نَدَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ ، فَانْتَدَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ ، ثُمَّ نَدَبَهُمْ ، فَانْتَدَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ ، ثُمَّ نَدَبَهُمْ ، فَانْتَدَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيٌّ ، وَحَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ " .
Jabir bin'Abdullah (RA) reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) exhorting people on the Day of the Battle of the Ditch to fight. Zubair said: I am ready (to participate). He then again exhorted and he again said: I am ready to participate. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Behold. for every Prophet (ﷺ) there is a helper and my helper is Zubair.
