Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had completed his dawn prayer, the servants of Madinah came to him with utensils containing water, and no utensil was brought in which he did not dip his hand; and sometime they came in the cold dawn (and he did not feel reluctant in acceding to their request even in the cold weather) and dipped his hand in them.

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: From this hadith, it is understood that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) maintained a relationship of affection and love with the people, and even those who were underprivileged would come to his service without hesitation. They would present their water vessels in order to obtain blessings from the touch of his blessed hand, and he, in order to fulfill their wishes and desires, would endure hardship and immerse his hand in their vessels even in the severe cold of winter.
