Hadith 2238

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قالا : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْوَزَغِ وَسَمَّاهُ فُوَيْسِقًا " .
'Amir bin Sa'd reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) commanded the killing of geckos, and he called them little noxious creatures.

Benefits and Issues:
The meaning of fisq is "to go out," and due to being harmful and injurious, such creatures are outside the nature and temperament of other living beings.
Therefore, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) referred to those creatures that are permitted to be killed within the Haram as "fasiq."
