'A'isha the wife of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: When there was any bereavement in her family the women gathered there for condolence and they departed except the members of the family and some selected persons. She asked to prepare talbina in a small couldron and it was cooked and then tharid was prepared and it was poured over talbina, then she said: Eat it, for I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Talbina gives comfort to the aggrieved heart and it lessens grief.

Hadith Commentary: Vocabulary of the Hadith:
(1)
Talbinah:
It is a thin porridge prepared from flour or fine flour or bran and honey, and according to some, milk is also added to it. For this reason, it is called talbinah (milk-colored).
(2)
Majammah or Mujammah:
In the first form, "jamma yajim" is a verbal noun (masdar mimi) and is in the meaning of an active participle (ism fa'il), and in the second form, it is the active participle form derived from "ijmam."
(3)
Jamm:
And the meaning of "ijmam" is to bring comfort and tranquility, that is, it grants relief to the heart of the patient and removes sorrow and grief.
Benefits and Issues:
Sometimes, certain humors dominate in the patient's stomach, due to which dryness occurs in the organs and stomach of the distressed person—that is, a kind of dryness is produced. Especially, due to the lack of food, the stomach is affected. Porridge (harirah) provides moisture, nourishment, and strength for such a person, because it cleanses the stomach. Therefore, it also becomes a source of comfort and tranquility for the heart of the patient. For this reason, there is a narration in Sunan al-Nasa'i: "Talbinah washes your stomach just as you wash dirt from your face with water."

Hadith Commentary:
Due to a lack of nourishment, dryness in the limbs increases, especially in the stomach, and because of this dryness, the heart of a sorrowful person becomes weak.
The prescription mentioned in the hadith makes the stomach moist and strong.
It removes sorrow and brings comfort to the heart.
This is beneficial when it is soft, thin, and well-cooked; if it is thick or not properly cooked, it does not possess the aforementioned quality.
And Allah knows best.
