'A'isha (the wife of Allah's Apostle) (ﷺ) said: When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) fell ill. Gabriel (ؑ) used to recite these verses. "In the name of Allah. He may cure you from all kinds of illness and safeguard you from the evil of a jealous one when he feels jealous and from the evil influence of eye."

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: This hadith proves that ruqyah (spiritual healing by recitation and blowing) is permissible, and according to Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah, there is consensus among the scholars on the permissibility of ruqyah, provided that the following three conditions are observed:
➊ The ruqyah should be performed using the words of Allah and His names and attributes; the purpose is that there should be no trace of shirk (associating partners with Allah) or seeking help from other than Allah.
➋ It should be done in the Arabic language or in a language whose meanings and implications are known, and there should be no ambiguity in it, so that one remains protected from shirk and from seeking help from other than Allah.
➌ The belief should be that the One who brings about effect is Allah Ta’ala Himself; these words themselves do not have any effect, meaning that healing is in the hand of Allah, not in these words.
As for those ahadith in which ruqyah is prohibited, or those in which praise is given to those who do not seek ruqyah, what is meant by that are those ruqyahs which were from the time of ignorance (jahiliyyah) and contained words of shirk, or in which help was sought from other than Allah, or those ruqyahs whose meanings were unknown and thus there was a risk of them containing words of shirk.
