Jabir reported that there happened to pass before Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) an ass the face of which had been cauterised, whereupon he said: Allah has cursed one who has cauterised it (on the face).
Hadith Referenceصحيح مسلم / كتاب اللباس والزينة / 2117
Explanation: 1: The face is the most superior and noble among the parts of the body. Striking the face can result in the impairment of certain senses. Along with this, there is also the risk of the face becoming disfigured. For this reason, not only is striking the face disliked, but also causing any kind of mark or blemish upon it is considered undesirable.

Jabir reported the Prophet ﷺ as saying when an ass which had been branded on its face passed him. Did it not reach you that I cursed him who branded the animals on their faces or struck them on their faces. So he prohibited it.
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
Benefits and Issues: ➊ The face is an honorable part of the body. It is prohibited to strike the face, whether of a human or an animal.
➋ The cursing (la'nat) of the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was not by his own will, but rather was based on divine inspiration (ilham ilahi).
