Jabir reported: I heard Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) saying during an expedition in which we also participated: Make a general practice of wearing sandals, for a man is riding as it were when he wears sandals.

Hadith Commentary:Benefits and Issues: The person who wears shoes is, in terms of reduced hardship and fatigue and the protection of the feet, similar to one who is riding. This is because his feet are protected from thorns, stones, and other harmful things on the path.
