باب ثَوَابِ مَنْ حَبَسَهُ عَنِ الْغَزْوِ مَرَضٌ أَوْ عُذْرٌ آخَرُ:Chapter: The reward of one who is kept from fighting by sickness or any other excuse
Hadith 1911
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزَاةٍ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ لَرِجَالًا مَا سِرْتُمْ مَسِيرًا وَلَا قَطَعْتُمْ وَادِيًا إِلَّا كَانُوا مَعَكُمْ حَبَسَهُمُ الْمَرَضُ " .
It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir who said: We were with the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) on an expedition. He said: There are some people in Madinah. They are with you whenever you cover a distance or cross a valley. They have been detained by illness.

وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ ، إِلَّا شَرِكُوكُمْ فِي الْأَجْرِ .
In a version of the tradition narrated on the authority of A'mash, we have the words:" They will share with you the reward (for Jihad)."
