It has been narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: After me there will be favouritism anad many things that you will not like. They (his Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, what do you order that one should do it anyone from us has to live through such a time? He said: You should discharge your own responsibility (by obeying your Amir), and ask God to cuncede your right (by guiding the Amir to the right path or by replacing him by one more just and God-fearing).

Benefits and Issues:
In this hadith as well, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has instructed the subjects to fulfill their duties. If those rulers are even usurping the interests of the people themselves, then one should pray for them that Allah, the Exalted, grants them the ability to fulfill the rights of the subjects, and protects the subjects from their evil and corruption.

Hadith Commentary:
That is, pray to Allah that He grants them the ability to act with justice and deliver the truth.
As is mentioned in the narration of Thawri: "O Allah, appoint in their place other rulers over you who are just and fair."
In the narration of Muslim and Tabarani, it is stated: "O Messenger of Allah! Should we not fight against them?"
He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) replied: "No, as long as they establish the prayer."
It is understood from this that when a Muslim ruler abandons the prayer, then it becomes permissible to fight against him and oppose him.
Obedience to a ruler who does not pray is not obligatory.
All the scholars of hadith are unanimous on this.
Hafiz said: This does not mean that he becomes a disbeliever (kafir); rather, it means that he will die like the people of Jahiliyyah, that is, just as the people of Jahiliyyah had no leader, similarly, he will have none.
In another narration, it is stated: "Whoever separates himself from the congregation even by a handspan has removed the rope of Islam from his neck."
Ibn Battal said: From this hadith, it is derived that even if the ruler is oppressive or sinful (fasiq), it is not permissible to rebel against him; however, if he openly adopts disbelief (kufr), then obedience to him is not permissible. Rather, whoever has the ability, it becomes obligatory upon him to perform jihad against such a ruler.
Nowadays, some imams of mosques take pledges of allegiance (bay'ah) from people for their own leadership, and declare those who do not give bay'ah to have died a death of Jahiliyyah, and they collect zakat from the people.
All these are deceived individuals.
Here, what is meant is the Caliph of Islam, who, in the true sense, possesses Islamic authority.

Hadith Commentary:
The meaning of the statement of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is that after me, there will come rulers who will show favoritism towards their relatives in matters of rights.
And they will give them preference over others and will violate the rights of others.
And regarding religious matters, their condition will be such that they will do things which the pious segment of society will not approve of.
In such circumstances, the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is that we should fulfill the obligatory duties prescribed by the Shari‘ah, such as the payment of zakat (obligatory charity) and participation with them at the time of jihad (struggle in the path of Allah), and we should not raise the banner of rebellion against them. As for our own rights, we should supplicate to Allah, the Exalted, that He grants them the ability to act with justice and fairness.
In any case, at the governmental level, this is a great trial regarding financial rights in which all of us are afflicted today.
May Allah, the Exalted, deal with us with His mercy and grace and grant us the ability to be patient.
Ameen, O Lord of the worlds.

Hadith Commentary:
➊
By (Athurah) is meant giving preference to one individual in matters of communal wealth, and by "right" is meant obedience and compliance to the ruler of the time, and not raising the banner of rebellion against them.
➋
This hadith is also a tremendous proof of prophethood, because the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
In the future, it will happen in such a way that your rights will be violated and others will be given preference over you.
Thus, as per your prophecy, this indeed occurred.
In such turbulent circumstances, the command of the Shari‘ah is that one should not fight against the leaders and rulers; it is hoped that Allah, the Exalted, will provide such unseen assistance by which the violation of rights will be compensated.
And Allah knows best.

Explanation:
1:
That is, if the rulers give preference to those who are not deserving of preference over others, then you should act with patience, obey them, and entrust your affair to Allah, because Allah does not let the reward of the righteous go to waste.
