It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: It is obligatory for you to listen to the ruler and obey him in adversity and prosperity, in pleasure and displeasure, and even when another person is given (rather undue) preference over you.

Benefits and Issues:
It is established from this hadith that if the leader (amir) gives a command regarding a permissible matter, then it is obligatory to obey him in all circumstances. It should not be that if the matter is according to one’s own desire, or if it is easy and convenient, or if it is in one’s own interest, then it is accepted, but otherwise one resorts to procrastination or begins to oppose and raise objections to it.
