Hadith Commentary:
Benefits and Issues:
In this hadith, the mention of food and clothing is a metaphor for the provision of life's necessities.
So, if a slave, who is someone's property,
is entitled to receive all his necessities of life from his master,
then how can it be that a person who is neither anyone's property nor a slave,
but merely a hired worker or employee,
should not be entitled to obtain all his necessities of life?
Therefore, it is the duty of an Islamic government
to ensure that all types of employees and laborers are given and provided with such wages
through which their necessities of life, according to the demands of the era, can be fulfilled,
and for this, their expenses and needs should be taken into consideration.
