The Book of Marriage
باب نِكَاحِ الْمُتْعَةِ وَبَيَانِ أَنَّهُ أُبِيحَ ثُمَّ نُسِخَ ثُمَّ أُبِيحَ ثُمَّ نُسِخَ وَاسْتَقَرَّ تَحْرِيمُهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ:
Chapter: Mut'ah Marriage: It was permitted then abrograted, then permitted then abrogated, and it will remain Forbidden until the day of resurrection

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حدثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : " كُنَّا نَسْتَمْتِعُ بِالْقَبْضَةِ مِنَ التَّمْرِ ، وَالدَّقِيقِ الْأَيَّامَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ حَتَّى نَهَى عَنْهُ عُمَرُ فِي شَأْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported: We contracted temporary marriage giving a handful of (tales or flour as a dowery during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and during the time of Abu Bakr (RA) until 'Umar forbade it in the case of 'Amr bin Huraith.
