The Book of Marriage
باب اسْتِحْبَابِ النِّكَاحِ لِمَنْ تَاقَتْ نَفْسُهُ إِلَيْهِ وَوَجَدَ مُؤْنَةً وَاشْتِغَالِ مَنْ عَجَزَ عَنِ الْمُؤَنِ بِالصَّوْمِ:
Chapter: Marriage is recommended for the one who desires it and can afford it, and the one who cannot afford it should distract himself by fasting

حدثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حدثنا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ أَنَا ، وَعَمِّي عَلْقَمَةُ ، وَالْأَسْوَدُ ، عَلَى عبد الله بن مسعود ، قَالَ : وَأَنَا شَابٌّ يَوْمَئِذٍ ، فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا رُئِيتُ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَ بِهِ مِنْ أَجْلِي ، قَالَ : قَال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَزَادَ قَالَ : فَلَمْ أَلْبَثْ حَتَّى تَزَوَّجْتُ ،
Abu al-Rahman bin Yazid said: I and my uncle 'Alqama and al-Aswad went to 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (RA) . He (the narrator further) said: I was at that time young, and he narrated a hadith which it seemed he narrated for me that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said like one transmitted by Mu'awiyah, and further added: I lost no time in marrying.
