Abu Hurairah (RA) reported the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: For one among my Ummah who shows endurance against the hardships and rigours of Madinah, I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.
A hadith like this has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) through another chain of transmitters.

Benefit:
The virtue of Madinah Munawwarah is established from this hadith. Previously, its name was "Yathrib." It should be noted that, in terms of overall virtues, Makkah is superior to Madinah.
In some fabricated narrations, the virtue of repeatedly saying "Madinah, Madinah" has been mentioned, whereas those are extremely weak (da'if) narrations.
O Allah! Grant the writer and his family a permanent place in Makkah or Madinah, and grant the opportunity to serve Your religion. Indeed, You are the Hearer and Accepter of supplications.

Benefit:
In this hadith, the virtue of Madinah is described: whoever intends evil against Madinah or tries to cause turmoil and corruption therein, Allah, exalted is He, will destroy and ruin him. Furthermore, this hadith also establishes the intercession of the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) on the Day of Resurrection for those residing in Madinah. Even if the residents of Madinah face any hardship, they should not leave Madinah, because if they leave Madinah, they will be deprived of the intercession of the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) on the Day of Resurrection. O Allah! Grant us also the honor of residing permanently in Makkah or Madinah; indeed, You have power over all things. Ameen.
