Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: According to the majority of the scholars of the Ummah, the meaning of this hadith is that it is not permissible for any Muslim to raise a weapon against another within Makkah and the boundaries of the Haram, nor to use it. However, if merely holding the weapon in one’s hand does not pose any danger of harm or injury to anyone, then simply holding the weapon is not impermissible.
