Hadith 1102

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ ، قَالُوا : إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ ، إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى " .
Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with both of them) said that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) forbade uninterrupted fasting. They (some of the Companions) said: You yourself fast uninterruptedly, whereupon he said: I am not like you. I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah).
