The Book of Zakat
باب تَحْرِيمِ الزَّكَاةِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَهُمْ بَنُو هَاشِمٍ وَبَنُو الْمُطَّلِبِ دُونَ غَيْرِهِمْ:
Chapter: Zakat is forbidden for the messenger of Allah pbuh and his family, and they are Banu Hashim and Banu Al-Muttalib, and no one else
Hadith 1071

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَدَ تَمْرَةً ، فَقَالَ : " لَوْلَا أَنْ تَكُونَ صَدَقَةً لَأَكَلْتُهَا " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) found a date and said: Were it not (that I fear) it may be part of sadaqah, I would have eaten it.
