Hadith 1017

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الْعَبْسِيُّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَا يَسُنُّ عَبْدٌ سُنَّةً صَالِحَةً يُعْمَلُ بِهَا بَعْدَهُ ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ تَمَامَ الْحَدِيثِ .
Jarir bin 'Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The servant does not introduce good practice which is followed after him.... The rest of the hadith is the same.
