باب التَّرْغِيبِ فِي الصَّدَقَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ لاَ يُوجَدَ مَنْ يَقْبَلُهَا:Chapter: Encouragement to give charity before there is no one to accept it
وحَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الرِّفَاعِيُّ ، واللفظ لواصل ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَقِيءُ الْأَرْضُ أَفْلَاذَ كَبِدِهَا أَمْثَالَ الْأُسْطُوَانِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ ، فَيَجِيءُ الْقَاتِلُ فَيَقُولُ : فِي هَذَا قَتَلْتُ ، وَيَجِيءُ الْقَاطِعُ فَيَقُولُ : فِي هَذَا قَطَعْتُ رَحِمِي ، وَيَجِيءُ السَّارِقُ فَيَقُولُ : فِي هَذَا قُطِعَتْ يَدِي ، ثُمَّ يَدَعُونَهُ فَلَا يَأْخُذُونَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The earth will vomit long pieces of its liver like columns of gold and silver, and the murderer will come and say: It was for this that I committed murder. The breaker of family ties will come and say: It was for this that I broke the family ties; and the thief will come and say: It is for this that my hands were cut off. They will then leave it and will not take anything out of it.

All these ahadith pertain to the final era of al-Mahdi (alayhis salam) and ‘Isa (alayhis salam), when the time of the Hour (Qiyamah) will draw near. As a result of wars, men will be killed and women will remain.
The earth will bring forth its treasures, the greed for wealth and riches will disappear from people’s hearts, and concern for the Hereafter will increase. Although a glimpse of this was seen during the era of ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz rahimahullah, the true manifestation will occur in the final era,
when the full manifestation of the earth’s blessings will take place.

Explanation:
1:
The state of Uthman (radi Allahu anhu) was such that he had so much fear and dread of the punishment of the grave that, upon seeing it, he would weep uncontrollably, despite the fact that he was among the ten who were given glad tidings of Paradise (asharah mubasharah). Yet our condition is that we have forgotten this punishment, even though it is the very first stage among the stages of the Hereafter. May Allah, Lord of all the worlds, protect us all from the punishment of the grave. Ameen.
