Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) attacked Banu Al-Mustaliq while they were unaware and their animals had come to the water, and Juwayriya bint Al-Harith was among those affected, and I was among the horsemen.

Ibn Muhairiz reports that I and Abu Sarmah Mazni went to Abu Sa'id Khudri and we asked him about 'azl (withdrawal). He replied: We had captured the noble women of the Arabs; we had taken the women of Banu al-Mustaliq as captives and we intended to practice 'azl with them and showed interest in taking ransom. Some of us said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is present among you and you are practicing 'azl? So we went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon you)! We have captured the noble women of the Arabs. We have taken the women of Banu al-Mustaliq as captives and we intend to practice 'azl with them and are interested in taking ransom. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No! Do not do this. For no soul that Allah has decreed to exist until the Day of Resurrection will fail to come into existence.

Hazrat Hisham narrates from his father that when the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the place during the expedition of Banu Mustaliq, a quarrel broke out among the young boys of the Muhajirin and the Ansar. The boys of the Muhajirin called out, "O Muhajirin!" and the boys of the Ansar called out, "O Ansar!" This news reached Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul, so he said, "Yes! By God! If the Ansar did not spend on the Muhajirin, they would leave the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes! By God! If we return to Medina, then surely the honorable ones will expel the disgraced ones from Medina." When this matter reached the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he ordered the companions to set out. It was as if he (peace and blessings be upon him) was keeping them occupied. Then, during the journey, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came upon a mounted group from Banu Abd al-Ashhal and said to them, "Do you not know what the hypocrite Abdullah bin Ubayy has said?" They asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What has he said?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "He has said: Yes! By God! If you (the Ansar) do not spend on them (the Muhajirin), they will leave Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes! By God! If we return to Medina, then surely the honorable ones will expel the disgraced ones from Medina." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! You have spoken the truth. You and Allah Almighty are the honorable ones, while he is the disgraced one."
