Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would present himself before the people at the place of standing and say: "Is there anyone who will take me to his people? For the Quraysh have prevented me from conveying the words of my Lord." The narrator says: Then a man from Hamdan came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Where are you from?" He replied: "From Hamdan." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Does your people have strength and power?" The man replied: "Yes!" The narrator says: The man left, but then he feared that his people might break their covenant with him. So the man came back to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "I will go and present (your message) to my people, then I will come to you next year." Then the man left, and in the month of Rajab, a delegation of the Ansar came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
