Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that revelation descended upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he was forty years old. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for thirteen years and in Madinah for ten years. Then when he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, his blessed age was sixty-three years.

Hasan narrates that the revelation descended upon the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when he was forty years old. Then he, peace and blessings be upon him, stayed in Makkah for ten years and stayed in Madinah for ten years.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for ten years; the Qur'an was being revealed to him, and he stayed in Madinah for ten years.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) passed away when his blessed age was sixty-five years.

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) received the revelation of the Qur'an when he was forty-three years old, and he resided in Makkah for ten years and in Madinah for ten years. And when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, his age was sixty-three years.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent as a prophet when he was forty years old, and he stayed in Makkah for fifteen years and in Madinah for ten years. Thus, when he passed away, his blessed age was sixty-five years.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair narrates that a man came to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and said: Did the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) receive the revelation of the Qur'an for ten years in Makkah and ten years in Madinah? He replied: Who said this? The revelation of the Qur'an descended upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Makkah for ten years and for more than sixty-five years.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Holy Qur'an was revealed to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he was forty years old. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for thirteen years and in Madinah for ten years, and when he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, his blessed age was sixty-three years.

Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent as a prophet at the age of forty. He (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for ten years and in Madinah for ten years, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away at the age of sixty.
