Hadith 39214
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered the martyrs of Uhud two by two in one grave, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that they be buried with their blood, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not offer the funeral prayer over them, nor were they given a ritual bath.
Hadith 39215
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the day of Uhud, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Hazrat Hamza, whose nose had been cut off and who had been mutilated. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If it were not for the fact that Safiyyah would be distressed, I would have left him (as he was) until Allah the Exalted would gather him from the bellies of wild beasts and birds. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform the funeral prayer over any of the martyrs. And he said: I am a witness over you today. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that the funeral prayer should be performed over a martyr.
