Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated about Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he performed prayer on his mount and also offered Witr on it, and he stated: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also did this act.

It is narrated about Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that he offered Witr and said: Witr can be performed on a mount (while riding).

Hazrat Thuwair narrates from his father that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform the Witr prayer on his mount.

Hazrat Ash'ath states that Hasan saw no harm in a person offering Witr prayer while mounted on his ride.

Hazrat Umar bin Nafi narrates that his father used to offer Witr prayer on a camel.

Hazrat Musa bin Uqbah narrates that I was with Hazrat Salim. So I fell behind him on the way. Then he asked: What made you fall behind? I replied: I was offering Witr. He said: Why did you not offer it on your mount? And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that: Offering Witr on a mount does not suffice a person.
