Hadith 39022
Hazrat Asim bin Kulayb narrates from his father that we used to be in jihad and one of the companions from among us would be our leader. So we were in Persia and a companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) from the tribe of Muzaynah was our leader. The two-year-old calves (for sacrifice) became expensive for us until we would buy one musinn (two-year-old calf) in exchange for two or three jadh’ah (one-year-old or one-year-old cow). So this (companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)) stood up and said: This day also came upon us when two-year-old calves were expensive for us until we too would give two or three jadh’ah in exchange for a musinn. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us and said: The musinn animal is sufficient in the place where the mathani is sufficient.
