Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade making nabidh (a drink) by mixing dates and raisins together. And likewise, he forbade making nabidh by mixing unripe and ripe dates together.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade mixing dates and raisins together (for making nabidh), and forbade mixing unripe dates and raisins together (for making nabidh). And this instruction the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote to the people of Hurash.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah narrates from his father that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not prepare nabidh by mixing dates and raisins together, nor by mixing unripe and ripe dates together. And prepare nabidh from each of them separately.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade (making nabidh) from mixing unripe, ripe, and raisin, date (together). And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion is mentioned that: There is no harm in it.
