Hadith 38870
٣٨٨٧٠ - حدثنا معاذ بن معاذ قال: أخبرنا ابن جريج عن سليمان بن موسى عن الزهري عن عروة عن عائشة قالت: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "أيما امرأة لم ينكحها الولي أو الولاة فنكاحها باطل -قالها ثلاثًا- فإن أصابها فلها مهرها بما أصاب منها، فإن تشاجروا فإن السلطان ولي من لا ولي له" (١).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If any woman’s marriage is conducted by only one guardian and not by several guardians, then that woman’s marriage is invalid. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated this repeatedly. Then, if the husband and wife meet, due to this meeting the woman will receive her dowry. So, if people dispute, then whoever has no guardian, her guardian will be the ruler.
Hadith 38871
٣٨٨٧١ - حدثنا أبو (الأحوص) (١) عن أبي إسحاق عن أبي بردة قال: قال النبي ﷺ: "لا نكاح إلا بولي" (٢).
Hazrat Abu Burdah narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no marriage without a guardian.
Hadith 38872
٣٨٨٧٢ - [حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن إسرائيل (عن أبي إسحاق) (١) عن أبي ⦗٢٢٧⦘ بردة عن أبيه قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا نكاح إلا بولي" (٢)] (٣).
Hazrat Abu Burdah narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no marriage without a guardian." And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that: If the husband is compatible (of equal status), then this marriage is permissible.
