Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Amr that he heard Hazrat Jabir say that an Ansari man made one of his slaves a *mudabbar* (a slave set free after the master's death). That Ansari had no wealth except for this *mudabbar*, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sold that *mudabbar*: "Fashtarahun-Nahhamu 'abdan Qibtiyyan," who died a year before the rule of Ibn Zubair.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sold a mudabbar slave. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that: A mudabbar slave cannot be sold.
