Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) in the commentary of the noble verse { فَلأَنْفُسِہِمْ یَمْہَدُونَ } that it is about the grave.

It is narrated from Mujahid regarding the noble verse { وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّہِ جَنَّتَانِ } that the person who fears Allah by refraining from insisting on sin in this world.

Hazrat A'mash says that when I saw Mujahid, I thought that perhaps he was a potter whose donkey had gone missing and whom he was searching for.

Hazrat Mujahid said that whenever a day passes from this world, it says: "All praise is due to Allah, Who has taken me out of this world; now I will never return to it."

It is mentioned from Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) in the commentary of { نَأْتِی الأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُہَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِہَا } that by this is meant death.

Hazrat Mujahid says that there were needy members of the Ahl al-Bayt living in Madinah. They had the head of a goat. When they experienced some ease, they thought, "Why don't we give this head to someone more in need than ourselves?" So they sent it away, and that head kept circulating among the houses of Madinah until it returned to the very ones from whom it had originally come out.

Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the scholars have perished and only students of knowledge remain. Among you today, one who strives is like one who used to play and amuse himself among the people of the past.

Hazrat Mujahid said that when a person meets another and smiles, his sins fall away just as the wind shakes dry leaves from the tree. The narrator says that someone asked, "This is a very small act." So he replied, "Have you not heard the saying of Allah: { لَوْ أَنْفَقْتَ مَا فِی الأَرْضِ جَمِیعًا مَا أَلَّفْتَ بَیْنَ قُلُوبِہِمْ } that even if you were to spend all that is in the earth, you could not have united their hearts."

Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that among the people of Kufa, I like four men the most: Talha, Zubayd, Muhammad bin Abdur Rahman, and Yahya bin Abbad.

Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Indeed, even if a Muslim does not receive any good from his brother, it is sufficient good that, out of modesty for him, he refrains from sin.

Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said that an intelligent person is one who fears Allah.

The commentary of the Holy Qur'an verse { تُوبُوا إِلَی اللہِ تَوْبَۃً نَصُوحًا } is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid that the person should repent and then not commit the sin again.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid regarding the statement of Allah Almighty { وَلَہُ أَسْلَمَ مَنْ فِی السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَکَرْہًا } that it refers to an obedient, believing person.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid regarding the statement of Allah Almighty { کَانُوا قَلِیلاً مِنَ اللَّیْلِ مَا یَہْجَعُونَ } that those people did not sleep the entire night.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid in the commentary of Allah Almighty’s statement { حُورٌ مَقْصُورَاتٌ فِی الْخِیَامِ } that they will be such houris who will be in tents of pearls, and their hearts, souls, and eyes will be devoted only to their husbands. They will not love anyone other than them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid regarding the statement of Allah Almighty { وَحُورٌ عِینٌ} that the eyes will be dazzled when looking at those houris.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid regarding the statement of Allah Almighty { وَاسْأَلُوا اللَّہَ مِنْ فَضْلِہِ } that it does not refer to worldly wealth.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid regarding the interpretation of Allah Almighty’s command { وَتَبَتَّلْ إلَیْہِ تَبْتِیلاً } that develop sincerity for Allah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid that whenever someone dies, the earth weeps for him for forty days.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid in the commentary of Allah's statement { وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّہِ جَنَّتَانِ } that it refers to the person who, at the time of sin, remembers Allah and refrains from the sin.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid in the commentary of Allah Almighty's statement { یُطَافُ عَلَیْہِمْ بِآنِیَۃٍ مِنْ فِضَّۃٍ وَأَکْوَابٍ کَانَتْ قَوَارِیرَا قَوَارِیرَا مِنْ فِضَّۃٍ قَدَّرُوہَا تَقْدِیرًا } that "Aaniyah" refers to serving vessels and "Al-Akuwaab" refers to cups.
