Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

In the writing of Hazrat Abu Qalabah, it was stated: The example of the scholars is like that of the stars from which guidance is taken, and like those signs from which the path is found. When these stars become hidden from the people, the people become bewildered, and when they abandon these stars, they go astray.

It is narrated about Hazrat Abu Qilabah that in his supplication he used to say: O Allah! I ask You for good and pure things, and I ask You to enable me to avoid evil deeds, and I ask You for the love of the poor, and that You accept my repentance, and when You intend to test Your servants, then grant me death without subjecting me to tribulation.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qalabah. He says that when Iblis was declared accursed by Allah Almighty, he asked Allah Almighty for respite. So Allah Almighty granted him respite until the Day of Resurrection. Iblis said: By Your honor! I will remain in the belly or heart of the son of Adam as long as there is soul in him. Allah Almighty said: By My honor! As long as there is soul in him, I will not close the door of repentance for him.

Hazrat Muslim bin Yasar says that if Hazrat Abu Qilabah had been from among the non-Arabs, he would have been the Chief Judge (Qadhi al-Qudhat).

Hazrat Hammad bin Zaid says that I heard Ayyub saying, and he was mentioning Hazrat Abu Qilabah. He said: By Allah! He was among the intelligent and the jurists.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qalabah that he said: The best of your deeds is the moderate deed.

It is narrated from Hazrat Wahb bin Munabbih, he says: All of creation is in Allah's grasp just as a grain of mustard seed is before any one of you.

Hazrat Iyas bin Mu'awiyah narrates from his father that among the earlier people, the most virtuous was the one who was the most pure-hearted and did the least backbiting.

Hazrat Uqbah bin Abi Yazid says that I heard Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam speaking about the Divine Command { وَالْمُسْتَغْفِرِینَ بِالأَسْحَارِ }. He said: Those people who are present at the morning prayer.
