Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I seek repentance and forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day."

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! Repent to your Lord. For I also repent to Him one hundred times in a day."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: If it was counted in a single gathering from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to say: "O my Lord! Forgive me and accept my repentance. Surely, You are the Acceptor of repentance, the Most Forgiving." Then this would be counted a hundred times.

An Ansari companion narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say this one hundred times after every prayer: "O Allah! Accept my repentance and forgive me. Indeed, You are the Acceptor of repentance, the Most Forgiving."

Hazrat Saeed bin Abi Burdah narrates from his father, from his grandfather, that he said: We were sitting when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came and said: "There is not a single morning that I begin except that I seek forgiveness from Allah one hundred times."

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Shaqiq that he said: Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say, "Glad tidings to the person in whose record there is found some seeking of forgiveness (istighfar)."

It is narrated from Hasan that he says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty accepts His servant's repentance until he commits it again."

It is narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I complained to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the sharpness of my tongue, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where are you with regard to seeking forgiveness? I myself seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri that he says: Whoever says "Astaghfirullaha alladhi la ilaha illa huwa al-hayyul-qayyum wa atubu ilayh" five times, his forgiveness is granted, even if his sins are as much as the foam of the sea.
