Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid that he says when Hazrat Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) stood in prayer, he would be like a peg.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ishaq, he says: I have not seen a prostration greater than the prostration of ... Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) ...

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: { خُذِ الْعَفْوَ } He (may Allah be pleased with him) was commanded only regarding the morals of the people. And by Allah! As long as I remain among the people, I will also act upon this.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Nofal bin Abu Aqrab that he said: We went to Hazrat Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), and he had been observing continuous fasting (Saum Wisal) for fifteen days.

It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Ubaidullah that he said: I saw Hazrat Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) delivering a sermon to the people. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You have come from different cities and are in search of a great thing. Therefore, it is incumbent upon you to make good supplications and have sincerity of intention.

It is narrated from Wahb bin Kaysan that he said: When Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) was given the pledge of allegiance, an Iraqi man wrote a letter to him: "Peace be upon you. I praise before you Allah, besides whom there is no deity. To proceed! Indeed, those who obey Allah and the people of goodness have a sign by which they are recognized. And those things are recognized among them: enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and actions of obedience to Allah. And know that the example of the Imam is like that of the marketplace. Whatever is in it, that is what will come to him. If the Imam is righteous, then the righteous people will come to him with their righteousness, and if the Imam is wicked, then the people of wickedness will come to him with their wickedness."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b that he said: The example of the food of the son of Adam has been given, that if a lot of salt and spices are added to it, then he knows well what the outcome will be.

It is narrated about Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf that when food was brought to him, Hazrat Abdur Rahman said: Hazrat Hamza was martyred, but we did not have anything to use as his shroud, even though he was better than me. And Mus'ab bin Umair was martyred, he too was better than me. But we did not have anything for his shrouding either. Whatever we have received from this world, we have received. Then Hazrat Abdur Rahman said: I fear that perhaps our pure things have already been given to us in advance in this world.

It is narrated from Hazrat Awn bin Abdullah that he said: During the turmoil of Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), a man was sitting in a garden in Egypt, worried and sad, scratching the ground. During this, he raised his head and found a man with a spade standing before him. The man with the spade said: What is the matter that I find you worried and sad? As if, considering him insignificant, he said: It is nothing. Upon this, the man with the spade said: If it is for this world, then the world is a present provision from which both the righteous and the wicked eat. And the Hereafter is a true time in which the Powerful King will judge. He will decide between truth and falsehood. Until he mentioned that its joints are like flesh. Whoever errs in any of them will have erred from the truth. When this man heard these words, he said: My worry is about the internal issue among the Muslims. The narrator says: Upon this, the man said: Soon Allah will grant you salvation because of your compassion for the Muslims, and you should ask. Who is the person who asked from Allah and was not given? Who prayed to Allah and was not answered? Who relied on Allah and Allah was not sufficient for him? And who trusted in Allah and Allah did not grant him salvation? The narrator says: So I began to say: O Allah! Keep me safe and keep safety with me. He says: Thus, the turmoil ended and I suffered no harm from it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Salamah bin Kuhail that he says Abu Juhaifah met me and said: O Salamah! Of the things I used to recognize, only this prayer remains. No soul makes me happy by being saved from death, not even the soul of a fly. The narrator says then he began to weep.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Juhaifa that he said: Sit with the elders. Meet the wise. And ask the scholars.

It is narrated from Hazrat Yazid bin Abi Ziyad that he says: When the people were carrying the funeral of Abu Abdur Rahman past Hazrat Abu Juhaifa, he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "He found relief, and relief was found from him as well."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed regarding { فَإِنَّ لَہُ مَعِیشَۃً ضَنْکًا }, he says that this is the punishment of the grave.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed regarding { لَرَادُّک إِلَی مَعَادٍ }, he says: "Ma'ad means his Hereafter, that is, Paradise."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed that he says: On the Day of Resurrection, Hazrat Ibrahim’s father will meet Hazrat Ibrahim. He will cling to Hazrat Ibrahim, so Hazrat Ibrahim will say to him: Indeed, I commanded you and forbade you, but you disobeyed me. The father will say: But today, I will not disobey you. The narrator says: Hazrat Ibrahim will proceed towards Paradise and he (the father) will also be with him. The narrator says: Hazrat Ibrahim will be told: O Ibrahim! Leave him. The narrator says: He will say: Indeed, Allah Almighty has promised me that He will not disgrace me today. The narrator says: Then an angel from his Lord will come to Hazrat Ibrahim and greet him with peace. Thus, Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will be pleased to see him and will converse with him, becoming so engaged that he will become heedless of his father. The narrator says: Then the angel will begin to walk, and Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will also walk with him towards Paradise. The narrator says: At this, his father will call out to him: O Ibrahim! The narrator says: He will turn towards him, and his form will have changed completely. The narrator says: At this, Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will say: Uff, uff. Then he (peace be upon him) will straighten up and leave him.
