Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Humaid bin Hilal that he says Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr used to say: Leave that which does not concern you, and do not speak about matters that are unrelated, and guard your tongue just as you guard your expenses.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ghataif bin Harith Kindi that he said: I and some of my companions were present in the service of Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr. The narrator says: I heard him saying that when a servant is placed in the grave, the grave speaks to him and says: O son of Adam! Did you not know that I am the house of solitude, the house of darkness, and the house of reality? O son of Adam! What deceived you concerning me? You used to walk around me arrogantly. The narrator says: I asked Hazrat Ghataif: O Abu Asma! What is "fidadan"? He replied: That is, with arrogance. One of my companions, who was older than me, said to Ghataif: What if that person is a believer? Ghataif said: For him, his grave is widened, his abode is made green, and his soul is raised towards Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr, he says: All people will be gathered together, then it will be said: Where are the poor and needy of this Ummah? Thus, those people will appear. It will be said: What do you have? They will say: O our Lord! We were put to trial but we remained patient, and You know best. The narrator says: I think he also said that You gave wealth and authority to others besides us. Upon this, it will be said: You have spoken the truth. Thus, those people will enter Paradise a long time before the rest of the people, and the owners of wealth and authority will remain in the severity of reckoning. The narrator says: I asked: Where will the believers be on that day? He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Chairs of light will be placed for them, and clouds will cast shade over them, and that day will be shorter for them than even an hour of the day.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr that he said: There is no group that gathers and remembers Allah except that Allah remembers them in a gathering that is more honorable and noble than their gathering. And there is no group that disperses without having remembered Allah except that this assembly will be a source of regret for them on the Day of Judgment.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Uthman Nahdi that he says: We sent a woman to Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr with this question: Which is the sin that Allah Almighty will not forgive? He replied: There is no sin or deed between the earth and the sky, for which if a person repents to Allah before death, except that Allah Almighty accepts his repentance.

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Amr, he says that every person will meet Allah Almighty with some sin except Yahya bin Zakariya. Then he recited this verse { وَسَیِّدًا وَحَصُورًا } Then he picked up a small thing from the ground and said: They did not even have (a sin) as much as this, yet they were slaughtered.

Hazrat Khaythamah narrates about Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr. He says that I went to him while he was looking at the Holy Qur'an. The narrator says: I asked, "What are you reading?" He replied: "My portion which I have to recite in the night prayer tonight."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Imran that Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr was sitting and there was a fire in front of him when suddenly I began to feel suffocated. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul! This fire also seeks refuge from Allah from the greater fire... or he said from the fire of Hell. The narrator says that then he looked at the moon as it was setting and said: By Allah! It is weeping at this moment.

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Amr. He says: I would love to be this tree.

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Amr that he said: The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever. So when death comes to the believer, he is set free to roam wherever he wishes.
