Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib (may Allah be pleased with him) that if a person was found with embezzled property, it would be taken from him and he would be given one hundred lashes, and his head and beard would be shaved, and all his belongings except his riding animal would be confiscated, and his belongings would be set on fire, and he would never again receive a share from the spoils of the Muslims. He says that this has reached him that the two Shaykhs (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to do likewise.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a person receives property obtained through betrayal, his belongings will be set on fire.

Hazrat Amr bin Salim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that our companions used to say that the punishment for the one who commits treachery is that his tent and belongings will be burned.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you find anyone committing treachery, then burn his belongings with fire.
