Hadith 35371
٣٥٣٧١ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا (مستلم) (١) بن سعيد قال: ثنا خبيب بن عبد الرحمن بن خبيب عن أبيه عن جده قال: خرج رسول اللَّه ﷺ يريد وجهًا، فأتيته أنا ورجل من قومي، فقلنا: إن شهد قومنا (مشهدًا لا نشهده) (٢) معهم قال: "أسلمتما؟ " قلنا: لا، قال: "فإنا لا نستعين بالمشركين على المشركين"، قال: (فأسلمنا) (٣) وشهدنا معه (٤).
Hazrat Khubaib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out with the intention of battle, so I and a man from my tribe came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him). We said: We feel ashamed that our people are present on the battlefield and we are not participating with them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: Have both of you accepted Islam? We said: No! The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Surely, we do not seek help from polytheists against polytheists. The narrator says: Then both of us embraced Islam and participated with the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Hadith 35372
٣٥٣٧٢ - حدثنا يعلى بن عبيد عن محمد بن عمرو عن (سعد) (١) بن المنذر قال: خرج رسول اللَّه ﷺ إلى أحد، فلما خلف ثنية الوداع نظر خلفه، فإذا كتيبة (خشناء) (٢)، فقال: "من هولاء؟ " قالوا: عبد اللَّه بن أبي (بن) (٣) سلول ومواليه من اليهود فقال: "وقد أسلموا؟ " قالوا: لا، قال: "فإنا لا نستعين بالكفار على المشركين" (٤).
Hazrat Sa’d bin Mundhir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went towards the mountain of Uhud. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) left behind the valleys of farewell, he looked below and saw a group with many weapons. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who are these people? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul and his Jewish friends. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Have they accepted Islam? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: No! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, we do not seek help from disbelievers against the polytheists.
Hadith 35373
٣٥٣٧٣ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن حجاج قال: حدثني من سمع القاسم يذكر عن سلمان بن ربيعة الباهلي أنه غزا بلنجر وكان (غزاه) (١) فاستعان بناس من المشركين على المشركين وقال: ليحمل أعداء اللَّه على أعداء اللَّه (٢).
Hazrat Qasim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Salman bin Rabee’ah Bahili (may Allah have mercy on him) went to the place of Balanjar for jihad, and he used to participate in jihad very frequently. He (may Allah have mercy on him) sought help from some people among the polytheists against the polytheists and said: The enemies of Allah should be incited against the enemies of Allah.
Hadith 35374
٣٥٣٧٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن مالك بن أنس عن عبد اللَّه بن يزيد عن (ابن) (١) نيار عن عروة عن عائشة قالت: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إنا لا نستعين بمشرك" (٢).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, we do not seek help from any polytheist.
