Hadith 35210
Hazrat Abu Al-Maniyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, says that a man from the people of Yamamah made a bequest of a horse in the path of Allah. Then my cousin came, so I said to that man, "Let my brother ride it, for my brother is a righteous man." He said, "I will ask Hasan Basri, may Allah have mercy on him." He asked Hasan Basri, may Allah have mercy on him, and he replied, "Let that man ride it, and do not regret this matter at all." The narrator says: I asked Hasan Basri, may Allah have mercy on him, "What if he is in need of it?" He, may Allah have mercy on him, replied, "Then sell it to someone from the army, and do not give it to any of those slaves, for one of them may keep it for the expenses of his family."
