Hadith 35192
Hazrat Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that he asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): Do non-Arabs have the right to build any building or church for Muslims in the cities? He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: As for those cities which the Arabs have settled, non-Arabs do not have the right to build any building in those cities, or he said: to build churches in them. Nor can they ring bells in them. Nor can they drink wine in them, nor can they keep pigs in them, or he said: nor can they bring pigs into them. And as for those cities which the non-Arabs have settled, then Allah gave the Arabs dominance over them and they settled in those cities, then the non-Arabs will have the right to do according to the agreement made with them. And the non-Arabs have a right over the Arabs that they fulfill their promises to them. And do not burden them with more than they can bear.
