Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Amr bin Abi Qurrah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that we received a letter from Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): He (may Allah have mercy on him) had written: Indeed, there are some people who take a share from this wealth claiming that they will perform jihad in the way of Allah, but then they act contrary to this and do not perform jihad. So, whoever among them does this, we are more entitled to this wealth until we recover from him the wealth that he had taken. Abu Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I went to Hazrat Yasir bin Amr and I asked: What is your opinion regarding this hadith that Amr bin Abi Qurrah has narrated to me? And I narrated that hadith to Hazrat Yasir. He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: He has spoken the truth; he brought the letter of Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).

35031 - Abu Ishaq said: So I went to Asir ibn Amr and said: Do you not see what Amr ibn Abi Qurrah has narrated to me and I have narrated it? He said: He spoke the truth; it came with the letter of Umar.
