Hadith 34872
٣٤٨٧٢ - حدثنا حفص عن حجاج عن مكحول عن أبي إدريس عن أبي ثعلبة الخشني قال: قلت يا رسول اللَّه، إنا نغزو أرض العدو فنحتاج إلى آنيتهم، فقال: "استغنوا عنها ما استطعتم، فإن لم تجدوا غيرها فاغسلوها وكلوا فيها واشربوا" (١).
Hazrat Abu Tha’labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I said: O Messenger of Allah! We wage jihad in the land of the enemy. So we are in need of their utensils, what should we do? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Avoid them as much as you are able. And if you do not find anything else besides them, then wash them. Then eat and drink from them.
Hadith 34873
٣٤٨٧٣ - حدثنا إسماعيل بن عياش عن برد عن عطاء عن جابر قال: كنا نغزو مع النبي ﷺ أرض المشركين، فلا نمتنع أن نأكل في آنيتهم ونشرب في أسقيتهم (١).
Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we used to perform jihad in the land of the polytheists along with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and we did not refrain from eating from their utensils nor from drinking from their utensils.
Hadith 34874
٣٤٨٧٤ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن جابر عن عبد اللَّه بن (نجي) (١) الحضرمي أن حذيفة استسقى فأتاه دهقان بباطية فيها خمر فغسلها حذيفة ثم شرب فيها (٢).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Naji Al-Hadrami (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) asked for water. So, a landowner brought a large glass vessel in which there was wine. Then Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) washed it and then drank water from it.
Hadith 34875
٣٤٨٧٥ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن عروة (بن) (١) عبد اللَّه بن (قشير) (٢) أبي المهل عن ابن سيرين قال: كان أصحاب رسول اللَّه ﷺ يظهرون على المشركين فيأكلون من أوعيتهم ويشربون في أسقيتهم (٣).
Hazrat Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to prevail over the polytheists. Then they would eat from their utensils, and they would drink from their utensils as well.
Hadith 34876
٣٤٨٧٦ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن برد عن عطاء عن جابر قال: كنا نأكل من أوعيتهم (ونشرب) (١) في أسقيتهم (٢).
Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We used to eat from their utensils and drink from their drinking vessels.
Hadith 34877
٣٤٨٧٧ - حدثنا وكيع (١) قال: ثنا ابن عون عن ابن سيرين قال: كانوا يكرهون آنية الكفار، فإن لم يجدوا منها بدًا غسلوها وطبخوا فيها.
Hazrat Ibn Aun (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) considered it disliked to use the utensils of the disbelievers. So, if they found no alternative without them, they would wash them and then cook in them.
Hadith 34878
٣٤٨٧٨ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن هشام عن الحسن قال: إذا احتجتم إلى قدور المشركين وآنيتهم فاغسلوها واطبخوا فيها.
Hazrat Hisham (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When you are in need of the pots and utensils of the polytheists, then wash them and then cook in them.
Hadith 34879
٣٤٨٧٩ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا عمر بن الوليد (الشني) (١) قال: سألت سعيد بن جبير عن قدور المجوس فقال: اغسلها واطبخ فيها وائتدم.
Hazrat Umar bin Waleed al-Shani (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) about the utensils of the Magians. He (may Allah have mercy on him) replied: Wash them and cook in them.
Hadith 34880
٣٤٨٨٠ - [حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا الربيع عن الحسن أنه قال في برمهم وصحافهم: اغسلها واطبخ فيها وائتدم] (١).
Hazrat Rabee’ (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding their stone pots and plates: Wash them. And cook in them and make broth in them.
