Hadith 34488
٣٤٤٨٨ - حدثنا ابن إدريس عن الأعمش عن أبي سفيان عن جابر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لقد اهتز العرش لموت سعد بن معاذ" (١).
Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Due to the death of Hazrat Saad bin Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him), even the Throne (Arsh) moved.
Hadith 34489
٣٤٤٨٩ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن محمد بن عمرو عن أبيه عن جده عن عائشة عن أسيد بن حضير قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لقد اهتز العرش لموت سعد بن معاذ" (١).
Hazrat Usaid bin Hudair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Throne also shook at the death of Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 34490
٣٤٤٩٠ - حدثنا هوذة قال: ثنا عوف عن أبي نضرة عن أبي سعيد عن النبي ﷺ قال: "لقد اهتز العرش لموت سعد بن معاذ" (١).
Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, at the death of Saad bin Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him), even the Throne shook.
Hadith 34491
٣٤٤٩١ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن عطاء عن مجاهد عن ابن عمر قال: اهتز العرش لحب لقاء (١) سعدًا قال: إنما يعني السرير، قال: (تفسخت) (٢) أعواده، قال: دخل رسول اللَّه ﷺ قبره فاحتبس فلما خرج قيل: يا رسول اللَّه ما حبسك؟ قال: "ضم سعد في القبر ضمة فدعوت اللَّه أن يكشف عنه" (٣).
Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Out of love for meeting Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), even the Throne shook. And its beams were broken into pieces. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered his grave and remained there for quite some time. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, he was asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What kept you there? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Sa’d was pressed tightly in the grave, then I prayed to Allah and the grave was made spacious.
Hadith 34492
٣٤٤٩٢ - حدثنا عبيد اللَّه عن إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن رجل حدثه عن حذيفة قال: لما مات سعد بن معاذ قال (١) رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "اهتز العرش لروح سعد ابن معاذ" (٢).
Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when Hazrat Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Because of the soul of Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him), even the Throne (Arsh) moved.
Hadith 34493
٣٤٤٩٣ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن إسحاق ابن راشد عن امرأة من الأنصار يقال: لها أسماء ابنة يزيد قالت: لما (أخرج) (١) بجنازة سعد بن معاذ صاحت أمه، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ لأم سعد: ⦗١٣٩⦘ "ألا يرقأ دمعك ويذهب حزنك، فإن ابنك أول من ضحك له اللَّه واهتز له العرش" (٢).
Hazrat Ishaq bin Rashid (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that an Ansari woman whose name was Asma bint Yazid said: When the funeral of Hazrat Saad bin Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) was taken out, his mother cried out. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his mother: Why are your tears not drying and why is your grief not ending?! Surely your son is the first person for whom Allah smiled and the Throne also moved because of him.
Hadith 34494
٣٤٤٩٤ - حدثنا محمد بن بشر قال: ثنا محمد بن عمرو قال: ثنا واقد بن عمرو ابن سعد بن معاذ قال: دخلت على أنس بن مالك حين قدم المدينة مع ابن أخي فسلمت عليه، فقال: من أنت؟ فقلت: أنا واقد بن عمرو بن سعد بن معاذ، قال: فبكى فأكثر البكاء، ثم قال: إنك شبيه سعد، إن سعدًا كان من أعظم الناس وأطولهم، وإن رسول اللَّه ﷺ بعث بعثًا إلى أكيدر دومة، فأرسل بحلة من ديباج منسوج فيها الذهب فلبسها رسول اللَّه ﷺ فجعل الناس (يلمسونها) (١) بأيديهم فقال: "أتعجبون من هذه؟ " قالوا: يا رسول اللَّه ما رأيناك أحسن منك اليوم، قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لمناديل سعد في الجنة أحسن مما ترون" (٢).
Hazrat Waqid bin Amr bin Saad bin Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when I came to Madinah with my brother, I went to Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). And I greeted him with salam. He (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Who are you? I said: I am Waqid bin Amr bin Saad bin Muadh. He (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and wept much. Then he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Surely you resemble Hazrat (Saad). Indeed, he was the greatest and most noble man among the people. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent an army towards Akidar Duma, so he sent to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a garment which was made of silk and embroidered with gold. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wore it, and people began to touch the cloth because of its beauty. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you like this? The people said: O Messenger of Allah! We have never seen a cloth better and more beautiful than this. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The handkerchiefs of Saad (may Allah be pleased with him) in Paradise are more beautiful than the cloth you are seeing.
Hadith 34495
٣٤٤٩٥ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن أبي إسحاق عن البراء بن عازب قال: أهدي للنبي ﷺ ثوب من حرير، فجعلوا يعجبون من لينه، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لمناديل سعد في الجنة ألين من هذا" (١).
Hazrat Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was gifted a suit of silk. The people began to marvel at its softness. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The handkerchiefs of Sa’d in Paradise are much softer than this.
Hadith 34496
٣٤٤٩٦ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن سماك عن عبد اللَّه بن شداد أن النبي ﷺ قال لسعد وهو يكيد بنفسه: "جزاك اللَّه خيرًا من سيد قوم، فقد صدقت اللَّه ما ⦗١٤٠⦘ وعدته، وهو صادق ما وعدك" (١).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Shaddad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was in the throes of death: May Allah grant you the best reward for being the leader of your people. So, you have fulfilled the promise you made to Allah, and He is also true in fulfilling the promise He made to you.
Hadith 34497
٣٤٤٩٧ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن أبي إسحاق عن عمرو بن شرحبيل قال: لما أصيب سعد بن معاذ بالرمية يوم الخندق، جعل دمه يسيل على النبي ﷺ فجاء أبو بكر فجعل يقول: وانقطاع ظهراه، فقال النبي ﷺ: "يا أبا بكر"، فجاء عمر فقال: إنا للَّه وإنا إليه راجعون (١).
Hazrat Amr bin Shurahbil (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that on the day of the Battle of the Trench, when Hazrat Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was struck by an arrow, his blood was falling upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Then Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said: “May his back be broken!” Upon this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O Abu Bakr!” Then Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came and recited: “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”
