Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Qilabah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, every nation has a trustworthy person, and verily the trustworthy person of our nation is Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah."

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is not a single one among my companions (may Allah be pleased with them) except that I wish to change his character, except for Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that two priests from Najran came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), named Aqib and Sayyid. Both of them said: "Send with us a person who is completely trustworthy." So the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to desire this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Ubaidah! Stand up."

The previous statement of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is also transmitted from this chain of narration from Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Whom should I appoint as caliph? If only Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah were here."

Hazrat Abu Salih (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) is among six persons.
