Hadith 34370
٣٤٣٧٠ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن عامر قال: أخبرت أن النبي ﷺ أرسل إلى امرأة جعفر: "أن ابعثي إليَّ بني جعفر"، قال: فأتي بهم، فقال: "اللهم إن جعفر قد قدم إليك إلى أحسن الثواب، فاخلفه في ذريته بخيرما خلفت عبدًا من عبادك الصالحين" (١).
Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a messenger to the wife of Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) asking her to send the sons of Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So these children were brought to him. Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed as follows: O Allah! Surely Ja'far has come to You towards a good reward. So appoint the best person among his children as his successor, just as You appointed a successor from among Your righteous servants.
Hadith 34371
٣٤٣٧١ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن عامر قال: لما قدم جعفر من أرض الحبش لقي عمر بن الخطاب أسماء بنت عميس فقال لها: سبقناكم بالهجرة ونحن أفضل منكم، فقالت: لا أرجع حتى آتي رسول اللَّه ﷺ، فدخلت عليه فقالت: يا رسول اللَّه لقيت عمر فزعم أنه أفضل منا وأنهم سبقونا بالهجرة، فقال نبي اللَّه ﷺ: "بل أنتم هاجرتم مرتين" (١).
Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that when Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) returned from Abyssinia, Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) met Hazrat Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her) and said to her: "We preceded you in migration and we are superior to you." She replied, "I will not return until I come to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." Then she entered upon him (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I met Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and he said: 'Surely, they are superior to us and they preceded us in migration!'" Upon this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather you people have migrated twice." Isma'il (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Sa'id bin Abi Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him) told me: On that day Hazrat Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said to him: "It is not so. We were in the land of enemies and people far from kinship, and you were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who would admonish your ignorant ones and feed your hungry ones."
Hadith 34373
٣٤٣٧٣ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن أبي إسحاق قال: أخبرنا أبو ميسرة أنه لما أتى النبي ﷺ قتل جعفر وزيد وعبد اللَّه بن رواحة ذكر أمرهم فقال: "اللهم اغفر لزيد ثلاثًا، اللهم اغفر لجعفر ولعبد اللَّه بن رواحة" (١).
Hazrat Abu Maisarah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) received the news of the martyrdom of Hazrat Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him), Hazrat Zaid, and Hazrat Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him), he mentioned them and then prayed: O Allah! Forgive Zaid. He said this three times: O Allah! Forgive Ja’far, and also Abdullah bin Rawahah.
Hadith 34374
٣٤٣٧٤ - حدثنا يحيى بن آدم قال: ثنا قطبة بن عبد العزيز عن الأعمش عن عدي بن ثابت عن سالم بن أبي الجعد قال: أريهم النبي ﷺ في النوم رأى جعفرًا ⦗١٠١⦘ ملكًا ذا جناحين مضرجًا بالدماء، وزيدًا مقابله على السرير، وابن رواحة جالسًا معهم كأنهم معرضون عنه (١).
Hazrat Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that these three were shown to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw Hazrat Ja'far in the form of an angel with two wings, drenched in blood. And Zaid was on a throne in front of them, and Ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) was also sitting with them. It was as if he was turning away from them.
Hadith 34375
٣٤٣٧٥ - حدثنا عبيد اللَّه قال: أخبرنا إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن هبيرة بن (يريم) (١) (و) (٢) هانئ عن علي قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ لجعفر: "أشبهت خلقي وخلقي" (٣).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him): You resemble me in appearance and character.
Hadith 34376
٣٤٣٧٦ - حدثنا ابن نمير عن حجاج عن الحكم عن مقسم عن ابن عباس أن النبي ﷺ قال لجعفر: "أشبهت خلقي وخلقي" (١).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him): You resemble me in appearance and character.
Hadith 34377
٣٤٣٧٧ - حدثنا عبيد اللَّه بن موسى عن إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن البراء أن النبي ﷺ قال لجعفر: "أشبهت خلقي وخلقي" (١).
Hazrat Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him): You resemble me in appearance and character.
Hadith 34378
٣٤٣٧٨ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن أبي فروة عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى أن النبي ﷺ قال (١): "أما أنت (يا جعفر) (٢) فأشبهت خلقي وخلقي" (٣).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ja'far! You resemble me in appearance and character."
Hadith 34379
٣٤٣٧٩ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم عن زكريا عن عامر أن جعفر بن أبي طالب قتل يوم مؤته بالبلقاء، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "اللهم اخلف جعفرا في أهله بأفضل ما خلفت عبدا من عبادك الصالحين" (١).
Hazrat Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the day of the Battle of Mu'tah, at the place of Balqa, Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed: O Allah! Appoint in Ja'far's family a successor like the one You have appointed among Your righteous servants.
Hadith 34380
٣٤٣٨٠ - حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن الأجلح عن الشعبي قال: أتي رسول اللَّه ﷺ حين افتتح خيبر فقيل له: قدم جعفر من عند النجاشي، فقال: "ما أدري بأيهما أنا أفرح، بقدوم جعفر، أو بفتح خيبر"، ثم تلقاه والتزمه وقبل ما بين عينيه (١).
Imam Shabi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that when the fort of Khaybar was conquered, someone came and informed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) had arrived from the court of Najashi. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not know which of these two things brings me more happiness: the arrival of Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) or the conquest of Khaybar." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met him, embraced him, and kissed him on the spot between his two eyes.
Hadith 34381
٣٤٣٨١ - حدثنا محمد بن بشر قال: ثنا زكريا عن عامر أن عليًّا تزوج أسماء (ابنة) (١) عميس فتفاخر ابناها محمد بن جعفر ومحمد بن أبي بكر فقال كل واحد منهما: أنا أكرم منك، وأبي خير من أبيك، فقال لها علي: أقضي بينهما، (فقالت) (٢): ما رأيت شابًا من العرب خيرًا من جعفر، وما رأيت كهلًا كان خيرًا من أبي بكر، فقال لها علي: ما تركت لنا شيئًا، ولو قلت غير هذا لمقتك، (فقالت) (٣): (واللَّه) (٤) إن ثلاثة ⦗١٠٣⦘ أنت (أخسهم) (٥) لخيار (٦).
Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) married Hazrat Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her). Then, Asma’s sons, Muhammad bin Ja’far and Muhammad bin Abi Bakr, began to boast to each other. One of them said: “I am more honorable than you, and my father is superior to your father.” Upon this, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I will decide between you two.” Meanwhile, Hazrat Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “I have not seen any young man among the Arabs better than Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him), and I have not seen any elder better than Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him).” So Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to her: “You have not left anything for us. If you had said anything else, I would have been very angry with you.” Hazrat Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “And you are the least virtuous among the three.”
