Hadith 34316
٣٤٣١٦ - حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم بن علية عن أيوب عن عائشة بنت سعد قال: سمعتها تقول: أبي واللَّه الذي جمع له رسول اللَّه ﷺ أبويه يوم أحد (١).
Ayub (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), daughter of Sa’d, saying that my father—by Allah!—the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered his parents for him on the day of Uhud.
Hadith 34317
٣٤٣١٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن سعد بن إبراهيم عن عبد اللَّه بن شداد عن علي بن أبي طالب (١) قال: ما سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يفدي بأبويه أحدًا إلا سعدًا فإني سمعته يقول يوم أحد: "أرم سعد فداك أبي وأمي" (٢).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I have not heard that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed his parents for anyone except Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him). I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying on the day of the Battle of Uhud: O Sa’d! May my mother and father be sacrificed for you. Shoot your arrows.
Hadith 34318
٣٤٣١٨ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن نمير قال: ثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن سعيد بن المسيب قال: سمعت سعد بن أبي وقاص يحدث أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ جمع له أبويه يوم أحد (١).
Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I heard Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that indeed, on the day of the Battle of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) combined his parents for him.
Hadith 34319
٣٤٣١٩ - حدثنا وكيع عن إسماعيل عن قيس قال: سمعت سعدًا يقول: إني لأول رجل من العرب رمى بسهم في سبيل اللَّه في الغزو عند القتال (١).
Hazrat Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I heard Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: Among the Arabs, I am the first person who shot the first arrow in the path of Allah during combat.
Hadith 34320
٣٤٣٢٠ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن أبي بلج قال: سمعت مصعب بن سعد يحدث أن سعدًا كاتب غلامًا له فأراد منه شيئًا فقال: ما عندي ما أعطيك، وعمد إلى دنانير فخصفها في نعليه، فدعا سعد عليه فسرقت نعلاه (١).
Hazrat Abu Balaj (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I heard Hazrat Mus'ab bin Sa'd (may Allah have mercy on him) say that Hazrat Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) made a contract of emancipation (mukataba) with one of his slaves. He asked the slave for some money, but the slave replied, "I have nothing to give you." However, Hazrat Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) had demanded some dinars which the slave had hidden in his shoes. So Hazrat Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) invoked a curse against him, and both of his shoes were stolen.
Hadith 34321
٣٤٣٢١ - حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن يحيى بن الحصين عن مصعب بن سعد عن أبيه أنه سمع رجلًا يتناول عليًّا، فدعا عليه فتخبطته (بختية) (١) فقتلته (٢).
Hazrat Mus'ab bin Sa'd (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) heard a man speaking ill about Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), so he (Sa'd) invoked a curse against him. Then a Khurasani she-camel trampled him and killed him.
Hadith 34322
٣٤٣٢٢ - حدثنا وكيع عن إسماعيل عن قيس قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "اتقوا دعوات سعد" (١).
Hazrat Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Beware of the supplications (curses) of Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah have mercy on him).
Hadith 34323
٣٤٣٢٣ - حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن (الحر) (١) بن (الصياح) (٢) عن عبد الرحمن ⦗٨٥⦘ ابن الأخنس عن سعيد بن زيد قال: سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: "سعد في الجنة" (٣).
Hazrat Saeed bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that Saad (may Allah be pleased with him) is in Paradise.
Hadith 34324
٣٤٣٢٤ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن يحيى بن سعيد أن عبد اللَّه أخبره أن عائشة كانت تحدث أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ سهر ذات ليلة وهو إلى جنبي، قالت: فقلت: يا رسول اللَّه ما شأنك؟ فقال: "ليت رجلًا صالحا من أمتي يحرسني الليلة"، قال: فبينا نحن كذلك إذ سمعت صوت السلاح، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من هذا؟ " فقال: أنا سعد بن مالك، قال: "ما جاء بك؟ " قلت: جئت أحرسك يا رسول اللَّه، قال: فسمعت غطيط رسول اللَّه ﷺ في نومه (١).
Hazrat Abdullah, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that Hazrat Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, used to say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stayed awake one night while he was beside me. I asked: O Messenger of Allah! What has happened to you? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Would that some righteous man from my Ummah would guard me tonight. Hazrat Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, says: While we were in this state, I heard the sound of weapons, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: Who is it? A voice replied: I am Sa’d bin Malik. He, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: Why have you come? He said: O Messenger of Allah! I have come to guard you. Hazrat Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, says: Then I heard the sound of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, snoring in his sleep.
Hadith 34325
٣٤٣٢٥ - حدثنا أبو أسامة قال: ثنا مسعر عن سعد بن إبراهيم عن أبيه عن سعد قال: رأيت عن يمين رسول اللَّه ﷺ وعن شماله يوم أحد رجلين عليهما ثياب (بيض) (١) ما رأيتهما قبل ولا بعد، -يعني جبريل وميكائيل (٢).
Hazrat Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the day of the Battle of Uhud, I saw two men on the right and left side of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who were dressed in white clothes. I had never seen them before nor after that. That is, Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) and Hazrat Mikaeel (peace be upon him).
Hadith 34326
٣٤٣٢٦ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن (هشام بن هاشم) (١) قال: سمعت سعيد بن المسيب يقول: كان سعد بن أبي وقاص أشد المسلمين (٢) يوم أحد (٣).
Hazrat Hashim bin Hashim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah have mercy on him) was the person who fought the fiercest among the Muslims on the day of the Battle of Uhud.
Hadith 34327
٣٤٣٢٧ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن عبد الرحمن بن عتبة عن القاسم ابن عبد الرحمن قال: أول من رمى بسهم في سبيل اللَّه سعد بن أبي وقاص ﵁ (١) (٢).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Utbah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Qasim bin Abdur Rahman said: The first person to shoot an arrow in the path of Allah was Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him).
