Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Tariq bin Shihab narrates that Hazrat Salman asked Zaid bin Suhan: What will be your condition when there is fighting between the people of the Qur'an and the people of kingship? He replied: Then I will be with the Qur'an. He said: Little Zaid, then you will be very good.

Hazrat Hoshab narrates that Hazrat Ka'b said: The people of the Qur'an and those of kingship will fight. Then the people of kingship will trample the breach of the Qur'an. After that, neither will they care for them, nor will these care for them. So never try to escape from them.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to Hazrat Ibn Masood and said: O Abu Abdur Rahman! Teach me such words that are comprehensive and beneficial. He replied: Worship Allah and do not associate anyone with Him. And always recite the Qur'an.

Hazrat Amir bin Matar narrates that I was with Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: O Amir bin Matar, what will be your condition when people make a path and the path of the Qur'an will be separate? So with which of the two will you be? I said: I will live with the Qur'an and, if need be, die with it. He said: Then it will be very good.

Hazrat Ma'n narrates that a man said: Teach me such words that are comprehensive and beneficial. He (the Prophet) said: Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, and always recite the Qur'an.
