Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Az-Zara reports that Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Keep the Quran free from anything that is not Quran. And do not mix with it anything that is not a part of it.

Ibrahim narrates that Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Keep the Qur'an free from anything that is not Qur'an.

Hazrat Mughira narrates that Ibrahim said: It is said: Keep the Qur'an free from non-Qur'an.

Hazrat Hasan bin Ubaidullah says that I said to Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Aswad: What prevents you from asking questions as Ibrahim used to ask? The narrator says, so he replied: It was said: Keep the Qur'an free from anything other than the Qur'an.

Hazrat Abu Mughira narrates that a person recited the Qur'an before Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: I seek refuge with the Being who is All-Hearing, All-Knowing, from the accursed Satan. So he (Ibn Mas'ud) said: Keep the Qur'an free from other things.

Hazrat Shu'aib bin Habhab narrates that Hazrat Abu Al-Aliyah said: Keep the Qur'an free from anything that is not Qur'an.
