Hadith 31881
٣١٨٨١ - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن (الأسدي) (١) قال: حدثنا يحيى بن المهلب عن عطاء بن السائب عن أبي عبد اللَّه الجدلي قال: كان داود النبي ﷺ (يقول) (٢): "اللهم إني أعوذ بك من جار عينه تراني وقلبه يرعاني، إن رأى خيرًا (دفنه) (٣) وإن رأى شرًا أشاعه" (٤).
Hazrat Abu Abdullah Al-Jadali narrates that Prophet Dawood used to supplicate as follows: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the eye of the neighbor that watches me and from his heart that keeps surveillance over me. If he sees any good, he conceals it. And if he sees any evil, he spreads it.
Hadith 31882
٣١٨٨٢ - حدثنا سعيد بن زكريا عن عبد اللَّه بن مؤمل عن (ابن) (١) أبي مليكة قال: كان ابن عباس إذا أتي بعطر دعا قبل ذلك (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaika narrates that when food for iftar was brought to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), he would supplicate before eating, and we have been informed that supplication is accepted before this.
