Narrations Regarding the Most Beloved Words to Allah
Hadith 31858
٣١٨٥٨ - حدثنا يحيى بن آدم قال: ثنا زهير عن منصور عن هلال بن يساف عن ربيع بن (عميلة) (١) عن سمرة بن جندب (قال: قال) (٢) رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "أحب الكلام إلى اللَّه أربع: سبحان اللَّه، والحمد للَّه، ولا إله إلا اللَّه، واللَّه أكبر، لا يضرك بأيهن بدأت" (٣).
Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The four phrases are the most beloved words to Allah: Allah is free from all defects, and all praise is for Allah, and there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. It does not matter with which of these phrases you begin.
Hadith 31859
٣١٨٥٩ - حدثنا وكيع وأبو داود عن سفيان عن سلمة بن كهيل عن هلال عن سمرة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "أفضل الكلام أربع: سبحان اللَّه، والحمد للَّه، ولا إله إلا اللَّه، واللَّه أكبر، لا عليك بأيهن بدأت" (١).
Hazrat Samurah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The most excellent words are four: Allah is free from all defects, and all praise is for Allah, and there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. There is no sin upon you whichever of these words you begin with.
