Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that my grandfather taught me some words which I recite in the Qunoot of Witr: O Allah! Guide me along with those whom You have guided. And grant me well-being along with those whom You have granted well-being. And be my guardian along with those whom You have been a guardian to. And protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. And bless for me what You have given me. For surely, You alone decree, and none can decree against You. Surely, the one whom You befriend is never disgraced. You are Blessed and Exalted.

A sheikh whose kunya is Abu Muhammad narrates that Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to supplicate in the qunoot of witr as follows: O Allah! Indeed, You see and are not seen, and You are exalted in rank and vision. And indeed, to You is the return. And for You is the Hereafter and the former life. O Allah! We seek refuge in You from humiliation and disgrace.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to recite this supplication in Qunoot: All praise is due to You, filling the seven heavens and the seven earths and whatever is between them, and filling whatever comes after that, all praise, greatness, and honor belong to You. And whatever the servants have done. And all are Your servants. The most correct statement among them is that there is no one who can withhold what You grant, and there is no one who can grant what You withhold. And the rank of any person of rank does not benefit him before You.

Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) taught us to recite this supplication in the Qunoot of Witr: O Allah! We seek help from You alone and ask forgiveness from You. And we praise You in the best manner. And we do not show ingratitude to You, and we separate from and abandon the one who disobeys You. O Allah! We worship You alone. And we pray and prostrate for You alone, and we run towards You and present ourselves for Your service, and we hope for Your mercy. And we fear Your punishment. Indeed, Your punishment is going to reach the disbelievers.

Hazrat Zubair bin Adi narrates that Ibrahim said: In the Witr prayer, say like this: O Allah! We seek help from You and we ask forgiveness from You.
