Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ata states that Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Do not stand and supplicate as the Jews do in their synagogues.

Hazrat Ibn al-Asbahani narrates that Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman saw a man who, after performing prayer, stood up and was making supplication. So he reproached him or spoke harshly to him.

Hazrat Abda bin Abu Lubaba narrates that Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Yazid considered it disliked to stand and make supplication.

Hazrat Laith states that Hazrat Mujahid disliked standing and supplicating after prayer because of its resemblance to the Jews.

Hazrat Dahhak narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) received news that a group of people were standing and remembering Allah. Dahhak says: So he went to them and said: What a bad deed this is!

Hazrat Jameel bin Zaid narrates that I saw Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) enter the House of Allah and perform two units of prayer. Then I came out while I left him standing, supplicating and proclaiming Takbeer.

Hazrat Shu’bah says that I asked Hazrat Mughira: Did Ibrahim dislike that after finishing the prayer, anyone should stand facing the Qiblah and raise his hands? So he replied: Yes!
